Grounds Upkeeping – A Double Standard In Bridgeberry

So as part of our CC&Rs homeowners are required to keep weed growth under control as part of our maintenance responsibilities. I was out on a walk today and noticed that in all the common areas, weeds have gotten ridiculous. Where and how is the HOA keeping up with this? Moreso, where is the VALUE the HOA is supposed to be bringing to the table? We got cited (but not fined) for two violations for weeds as I mentioned in a prior article, even with proof that we’re working with a professional service to get them under control. Our professional did not yet want to treat ours until the sod takes hold out of fear of killing the sod.

That being said, I’m assuming the same circumstances may not be the case for longer established common grassy areas in the neighborhood, and that the grass has rooted and the areas should be under general maintenance. Why are the common grounds being neglected like this?

If pictures are worth 1,000 words, then what follows is a short book on the state of the common grounds in Bridgeberry. The HOA has no business citing violations to anyone for a violation under these circumstances!

A quick walk today shows how there are weeds overtaking some large portions of the Bridgeberry common areas:

Walking down Buckhorn toward Avent Ferry
Walking up Buckhorn from Avent Ferry
Weeds all over the median on Buckhorn
Weeds in front of the landscaping
Accumulation of contractor trash all over the empty lots on Trautz – we are forced to see this every day
