Upgrading Your Taylor Morrison Standard Issue Porch

The porch we got from Taylor Morrison as part of our stock build was just “ok” but not fabulous. We decided it was time to upgrade our back porch experience after we saw how it turned out for the Ziegler household. We were so impressed by their upgrade, that we just HAD to do the same because now our porch was just “meh”.

The Zieglers were gracious enough to recommend the vendor they used, and so we called, went through the estimate & ARC approval processes and pulled the trigger. We had to buy the floor tile materials ourselves, but they hooked us up with their installer. Here’s what our porch looked like before any modification:

it was just “meh”… After we replaced the TM screens with the new EZE Breeze windows, it really looked so much better:

But why stop there? we surely could make this even better by resurfacing the floor with tile. Doing so makes the floor easier to clean and hell, it just looks nice!

I have shared these pictures with some of our neighbors who agreed the change came out nicely, and I’ve been asked for the vendor info. I just added the info to the Gold Vendor’s page to help others find it. If you have a vendor you worked with who some of your neighbors were also happy with, please consider listing their information on the Gold Vendor’s page so that other neighbors can look them up.

  1. This looks great! We took your suggestion and reached out to Southern Exposure Sunrooms to get this done for our porch. They are coming tomorrow to put up our window walls. I was offered a tile guy to put down tile after the walls are up, I just have to provide the materials. Did you have a similar experience? Or did you contract your own tile installer?
