We were invited to spend Diwali with our neighbors this weekend. This was our first diwali experience and we all loved it. The food was very good, and we enjoyed the festivities and having the opportunity to see everyone as well as participate in a few games. I played my first game of BINGO ever, and got a full house – talk about luck! The ladies played a game of musical chairs and it was fun watching that, down to the last chair, among other things. Tanya and Brandon brought over Molly (their Corgi puppy) and she was an instant hit.
My kids enjoyed playing various games with the others (quite a few).

We are truly blessed to have exposure to different cultures in our neighborhood, and the opportunity to participate in them. It is the mix and sharing of cultures that makes our community rich. My only regret was not taking more pictures to cover the earlier part of the day – I was having too much fun!
In the evening, my daughter and I happened to be out and about and hearing fireworks go off, we decided to check it out. We were greeted by our neighbors and Jianna was invited to join in.
