We’ve been enjoying the pool this summer and it has been great not only for this Dad of 3, but also for the kids too. We’ve been going almost every day to the pool and great memories are made there that will last a lifetime.
UPDATE NOTE: it’s been found that the damage found and discussed herein are the result of storm-thrown furniture that was not secured just prior to a storm. See note at bottom or this article.

If that smug and sassy face doesn’t show the value of our pools, then I don’t know what would. Lately, I have found (and reported) two holes in the plaster coat of the lap pool to the Management. I have spotted two holes within 2 weeks. I am not sure how these happened, but if they continue, they could spell trouble for our pool and cause the cement to crack, or other damage to the concrete structure. We are lucky to have these pools and they make our HOA fees worth it. We are all responsible to do our part in making sure we’re not damaging the pool in any way, so that they can be enjoyed for many years to come. Each of us is on the hook and should be doing our part to take care of these community gems.

Repair for these sorts of (generally avoidable) items can and will cause our HOA fees to increase. After all, the cost to maintain things always gets passed down to the consumer. We can avoid potential fee increases by doing our part to avoid these damages, and more closely watch our kids while in the pool.
Let’s all show our pride for these amenities by handling ourselves like owners, caring just as if these were our very own backyard pools.

EDIT:
It’s been suggested these may have been the result of furniture ending up in the pool from storm force winds/weather. Just wanted to put that out here as that could have been the culprit too.
